The Hammersmith and City, Waterloo and City Line, low level tables by Mini Moderns
We have created, in collaboration with Transport for London, two nesting enamel tables which will launch at designjunction on the 24th September – part of London Design Festival.
The screen printed enamel topped tables feature one of Mini Moderns’ latest print designs, P.L.U.T.O., which has been recoloured exclusively for TFL. The original print transformed into a totally different concept once we introduced the diagonal colour cutting through the design, in the line colours of the Hammersmith and City , and Waterloo and City line. The abstract shapes too – once recoloured in tonal greys, suggest the London Underground tunnels, or an abstract version of Transport For London’s classic roundel branding. The hairpin legs were created in the line colours too to make the Underground the hero of the design.
The tables are in two sizes and two heights so they can either nest or be used alone. They were individually created by enamel experts A.J.Wells, on the Isle of Wight, and we were lucky enough to visit their factory earlier in the year to check out all the interesting things they do.
The underside of the tables also feature the underground line colours which are visible here under construction in the factory.
The tables are exclusively available from minimoderns.com:
1200 x 750mm £1114.00 (made to order)
750 x 750mm £1014.00 (made to order)
